New Feature: Integrate External Learning Events Posted last year by Dave Smith in Design-a-Course

This feature exists today in the Design-a-Course LMS, but requires additional licensing and configuration for existing customers. Send a message to us to request it for your existing Design-a-Course account.

The Design-a-Course Learning Management System includes the capability for customers to create classes, which may contain one or more of the following:

  • A title and description of the class.
  • Any number of Design-a-Course web based training modules, which may contain any content from the Brindle Waye content library, and any content developed or already owned in Design-a-Course compatible formats by the customer.
  • Submission boxes for students to submit course assignments, and receive comments or feedback.
  • Links to any external training information, including entity-led training, individual certifications, or training delivered by Internet-based live training or meeting systems.

Design-a-Course Corporate and Small Business accounts can use this system to track training received outside of the Design-a-Course content library, by assigning the relevant users to a class, on which reporting and other administrative functions may be used to obtain training information.

In addition, the Design-a-Course Learning Management System includes a registration feature for classes as described above.  The registration policy for a class may be set to:

  • Self-registration: Any licensed user may choose to register or unregister themselves for the class at any time.
  • Approved registration: Any licensed user can request registration for the class. Users with sufficient privileges to manage the class may approve these registrations, at which time the student is added to the class.  Users with sufficient privileges may also add users who have not yet requested registration through the Learning Management System.
  • Administrative registration:  Licensed users will not be presented the option to request registration.  Users with sufficient privileges to manage the class may register users for the class.
